Sizewell C today announces the appointment of David Gregg as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

David has held a range of senior finance roles at international FTSE 250 groups and was formerly Head of Corporate Finance and Acting CFO at Yorkshire Water. He joins from Thames Water, where he is Director of Corporate Finance.

David will join Sizewell C later this year and replaces Frederic Mayoux, who will rejoin EDF after holding the Sizewell C CFO post since 2021.

David Gregg said: “I am delighted to be joining the team at Sizewell C, a project that will play a significant role in Britain’s energy security and clean energy transition. After recently securing its nuclear site licence, the project has a great deal of momentum, and it is inspiring to have this opportunity at such an exciting moment in the development of the project and the company.”

A British project, majority-owned by the government, Sizewell C is an independent organisation with its own independent leadership team led by joint Managing Directors, Julia Pyke and Nigel Cann. After the appointment of Tilly Spencer as Technical Director earlier this year, the project announced its leadership team was over 50% female.

Julia Pyke, Sizewell Managing Director, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome David onto the Sizewell C project. His deep expertise and leadership experience will be a significant addition to the team. We’re also very grateful to our outgoing CFO, Frederic Mayoux, for the contribution he’s made to the project since 2021. We’re now in a position of real strength as we look forward to achieving a Final Investment Decision in the coming months.”
