Supporting the Armed Forces

Sizewell C proudly supports veterans, reservists, and their families, valuing the skills and experience they bring.

As a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant and holder of the MoD’s Silver Employer Recognition Award, we’re committed to recruiting and supporting the Armed Forces community.

We also partner with Combat2Coffee, a local social enterprise helping veterans transition to civilian life through barista training, employment, and wellbeing support.

Sizewell C has given the Combat2Coffee team their very first permanent coffee shop on site.

At Sizewell C, we’re proud of our commitment to gender balance. We are supporting the target of 40% women in the nuclear sector by 2030 by:

Here at Sizewell C, we prioritise training and support for all managers, ensuring they can effectively lead and support their teams through life’s challenges. 🌟👩‍💻

Our approach extends to personalised arrangements and mental health resources, in an effort to make Sizewell C a welcoming environment for all individuals, regardless of where they are in their career or personal journey.

Progressive Workers Agreement

Charlotte played a pivotal role in negotiating one of the most progressive construction industry agreements signed by Sizewell C in 2024, a deal between Tier 1 contractors and key trade union

Women in Construction

Sizewell C is working to break down barriers and create opportunities for women in the construction and nuclear industries.

Karen, one of our digger drivers, says she would never have imagined having this kind of career opportunity — and now loves coming to work every day. Her story is one of many showing how women are thriving on our site.

Diversity is also reflected at the highest level. Our leadership team is now 65% female, surpassing the nuclear industry’s 2030 target.

The Gender Balance Network promotes gender balance in the industry and supports the Nuclear Sector Deal target of 40% women in nuclear by 2030.

Pride Network

The Pride Network recognises that many LGBTQ+ employees in Britain fear discrimination and don’t feel confident about bringing their whole selves to work.

We aim to provide a safe and supportive workplace across our project.

Diverse Abilities, Carers & Parents Network

The Diverse Abilities, Carers & Parents network is here to support parents, carers and people with disabilities and illnesses.

It gives colleagues a forum to be heard and creates awareness amongst the wider project.

United for Race Equality Network

The United for Race Equality Network aims to promote race equality in the project and across our industry.

It works to celebrate our different racial backgrounds and establish a culture where everyone on the project is treated equally.

Mental Health & Wellbeing Network

The Mental Health & Wellbeing Network aims to create a workplace environment that promotes the mental wellbeing of everyone on the project.

Next Generation Network

The Next Generation network is focused on supporting colleagues in the early stages of their careers.

It provides a space to learn about the wider business, develop new skills, and access the network’s contacts, resources, supporters, and opportunities.

Forces Support Network

The Forces Support Network is open to ex-military personnel and Armed Forces supporters, offering a mutually supportive community for those working on or joining Sizewell C.

It harnesses the value of military experience to benefit the project and fosters an environment that makes Sizewell C an employer of choice for Service leavers.
