Ask usA career in construction with us is not just about diggers and cranes. We will have a whole host of jobs available across different areas as we build our nuclear power station.
From project management, admin and hospitality to security, operations and everything in between, there’s a place for you at Sizewell C.
Still not sure that a career in construction is for you? Watch this video to hear from some women working on our project.
My career took lots of twists and turns before I became an ADT operator with Blackwell Earthmoving at Sizewell C. I worked in retail for many years, starting off as a cashier in my local discount retail store, before moving on to working in a clothes shop. After that I took on a care job working with the elderly and worked as a mental health support worker. I then switched to hospitality working as a waitress and behind the bar.
I never, ever saw myself in construction or working on a national nuclear energy project. Being from Lowestoft and still living in the East of England, I knew about Sizewell C, but it just didn’t seem relevant to me. After 7 years in hospitality though, I knew I didn’t want to be a waitress anymore. I wanted a complete change. I wanted to do something more interesting and more challenging. I left my waitressing job with absolutely no idea where I was going next! Then some friends told me about jobs at Sizewell C…
They encouraged me to go down to the careers fair at Lowestoft College, that I’d find out about all the amazing opportunities at Sizewell C from people who work there and maybe see an opportunity for myself. So that’s what I did! I got talking to the lovely staff from Blackwell Earthmoving who encouraged me to send in my CV and, as they say, the rest is history! Since I started, everyone is so welcoming and professional. The pay is great. I didn’t feel out of place for a second even though I didn’t have any previous construction experience. They just took me as they found me and gave me the training I needed to do the job.
I’m so excited about this new chapter in my life. It’s given me job security and the ability to plan for the future while working with an amazing team. It’s meant I can earn a great salary and still live in the East of England near my sisters and my friends.Â
I’m really proud of the work I do and it feels good to know that I’ve played a part in a project that is so important to our country.Â

We’re constantly working to improve gender balance right across our project and we wholeheartedly support the target of 40% women in the nuclear sector by 2030.
We are proud that our executive team is currently 63% female and we’re striving for greater gender balance across all other areas of our organisation.
Our work to support women goes far beyond stats though. Our Woman in Construction Community Group was set up in 2025 to celebrate and support women working across our project.
Sizewell C is one of the biggest infrastructure projects in the UK. We’ll need thousands of people with a range of skills to get our power station built and we would love you to consider joining us.
