A hundred students from Alde Valley Academy in Leiston are being given a helping hand into work or college thanks to Sizewell B and recruitment firm Rullion.

The Year 10 students are preparing for their next steps after school so called on the help of local employer Sizewell B.

Many former students work at the power station and still have links with the school or hold voluntary roles such as being a Governor.

Community Liaison for the power station Niki Rousseau was a student at the school and mentors current students and is on the School Committee too. ” Sizewell B employees have a long standing relationship with the school and we are only too happy to help out where we can. We hope that the session with our recruitment consultants will help them prepare for their next steps, who knows some may come to work at the power station or join the Sizewell C project which will create 1,500 apprenticeships.”

The session takes place on Thursday and Friday and involves a workshop on how to create and write a CV, including a discussion on diversity and inclusion within recruitment – tackling subjects like mixed gender and inclusive interview panels.  The students then devise their CVs in the next session with follow up mock interviews by the Sizewell visitor centre guides.
