Around 150 delegates attended the annual conference at Snape Maltings, which focused on the tourism sector on the Suffolk coast.
EDF Energy’s Sizewell C socio-economic team gave an overview of the work we are undertaking to understand more about Suffolk’s tourist economy. We have been engaging with the tourism sector since the very beginning of the development of our proposals. The DMO conference offered another opportunity to continue that dialogue and increase our understanding of how we can build and operate Sizewell C whilst mitigating environmental and economic impact.
We have two further formal stages of consultation to go and discussions with the tourism sector and the wider community will continue. In the meantime we continue to engage with our neighbours and stakeholders such as the Suffolk Wildlife Trust and local authorities with a focus on the 684 hectares of the AON owned by EDF Energy, which has become an integral part of the Heritage Coast landscape.
