As part of our commitment to the local community and ambition to create social value, Sizewell C is launching an exciting new initiative: Doing the Power of Good for Suffolk (DPGS)
Our team will be reaching out to Suffolk charities and organisations to offer any support they need, whether that be volunteering through our designated company days, or helping in their own personal time. We believe we can make a real difference to the Suffolk communities, and see this launch as just the beginning of a fantastic collaboration with local people and groups.
Sara Warwick, Social Value Specialist and DPGS coordinator said, “The Sizewell C team is thrilled to support this social value initiative which will provide both community integration and much-needed support to local charities and organisations.”

Sizewell C’s Frameworks team have already been out and about painting animal shelters at the fantastic Poppies Care Farm in Ipswich, a fantastic charity which provides a safe environment for people to challenge their limitations and boundaries, learn, achieve, and be a contributing member of a community.
They believe that everyone has an equal right to be treated with respect and dignity, and that everyone has the potential to live an active and fulfilling life.
People with learning difficulties and mental health challenges are part of a team that help with all aspects of farm life: developing practical skills, gaining confidence and self-esteem, increasing social skills and a sense of belonging.
As the project moves forward, Sizewell C will have a huge workforce who become part of the Suffolk community and this initiative is one of the ways in which the project can leave a real positive legacy long after the power station has been built.

Another charity we look forward to working with as part of our Doing the Power for Good in Suffolk initiative is Home-Start in Suffolk.
In an ideal world Home-Start wouldn’t be needed. But for many parents, the pressures of family life are simply too much to cope with alone. There are so many reasons for this including:

Their vision is that every child in Suffolk is given the best start in life because of the love, support and guidance they receive from their parents, guardians or the people performing the role of their parents.
They support parents to grow in confidence, strengthen their relationships with their children, improve their health and wellbeing and widen their links locally.
