  • Fair takes place at the University of Suffolk on Thursday 25 June
  • Event brings together Sizewell C and around 25 of its supply chain partners
  • Sizewell C has already pledged to deliver at least 500 jobs for people living in Ipswich

Sizewell C is preparing to host a major careers fair in Ipswich, giving local people the opportunity to explore new jobs and speak directly with employers.

The event will run from 10:00 to 14:00 on Thursday 25 June at the University of Suffolk Waterfront Building on Neptune Quay. It will bring together Sizewell C and around 25 supply chain partners to showcase the thousands of jobs and training opportunities the nuclear power project will create.

Attendees will have the chance to meet industry experts, learn about current vacancies and future roles, and find out how they can be part of one of the UK’s largest clean energy projects, now under construction on the Suffolk coast. Opportunities will span a wide range of sectors, including construction, engineering, environmental services, logistics and business support.

Open to everyone – whether already working in the industry or considering a new career path – the event will also offer practical guidance. Advisors will be on hand to provide information on training, apprenticeships and routes into employment, helping local people understand how to access roles both now and as the project develops.

Stuart Allsopp, Job Service Lead at Sizewell C, said: “This careers fair is a fantastic opportunity for people across Suffolk to see first-hand the breadth of roles available at Sizewell C and across our supply chain. We’re committed to creating long-term, high-quality jobs and helping local people access them.

“Whether you’re just starting out, looking to retrain, or bringing existing skills, there’s something for everyone. We’d encourage anyone interested to come along, meet the team, and discover how they can be part of this once-in-a-generation opportunity right here on their doorstep.”

In partnership with local MP Jack Abbott, Sizewell C has already pledged to deliver at least 500 jobs for Ipswich residents during construction, ensuring the town directly benefits from the project’s significant employment opportunities.

At peak construction, around a third of the 7,900-strong workforce – approximately 2,600 roles – will come from East Anglia. Some will be based at Orwell Logistics Park in Ipswich, where Sizewell C has secured one million square feet of space for offices, equipment and materials. The project will also create at least 1,500 apprenticeships, with around a third reserved for people in Suffolk.

Over 300 suppliers across the East of England have already secured work at Sizewell C, with project investment in Suffolk alone reaching £1bn.

Last year, Sizewell C hosted careers fairs in Leiston, Lowestoft and Ipswich, attracting more than 1,500 attendees. A similar programme of events is being held this year.
