Anticipation is mounting in schools as pupils wait to compete in this year’s Suffolk Young Enterprise business awards event taking place today (27 April).

An impressive 17 schools from across Suffolk have each launched a business with 12 going through to the finals today to present their company plans to a panel of judges.

There are 18 awards up for grabs which celebrate different business talents. Teams will also compete for the ‘Overall Winner Award’, sponsored by EDF Energy, which will take them through to the Young Enterprise Regional Finals being held in Cambridge in June.

EDF Energy’s Nicola Corbett will once again be on the panel of judges for the event which is being held at University Campus Suffolk in Ipswich.

Nicola Corbett, Sizewell C Communications Officer, said: “Every year the competition grows and becomes more diverse which makes the judging even harder! It’s fantastic to celebrate so many talented young people in the county.”

Pat Trimmer, Suffolk Young Enterprise Manager said: “We are delighted with the dedication and enthusiasm that all students taking part have demonstrated this year and it will be a closely run race.”
