Sizewell C build decision now with Secretary of State

On Friday, February 25th 2022, the Planning Inspectorate submitted to the Secretary of State its report and recommendation on whether to grant Sizewell C a Development Consent Order (DCO).
This followed a six-month examination process that ran between April-October 2021.
The Secretary of State will now have until 25 May to make a decision on whether to approve the DCO application, which would provide the Sizewell team with consent to build Sizewell C.
If the project does progress to construction, we will work hard to limit the impacts of construction and to ensure Sizewell C delivers the maximum benefits for communities in East Suffolk. The Sizewell team looks forward to continuing to work with the local community over the coming months and years.
