Sizewell C Ltd has announced the appointment of Jon Loveday as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to strengthen the company’s executive team as construction activity in Suffolk accelerates and the project continues to grow.
A Chartered Surveyor with extensive experience in the delivery of major infrastructure, Jon brings deep expertise in commercial strategy, logistics, supply chain management, operations and business transformation.
He joins the company having most recently served as Director of Infrastructure at the National Infrastructure & Service Transformation Authority (NISTA), where he led a team of expert advisors supporting the UK Government’s £725bn major projects portfolio.
Jon has played a significant role in some of the UK’s largest and most complex infrastructure programmes. He was a member of the expert advisory panel for the commercial reset of HS2 and has served on senior government boards for GB Nuclear, Nuclear Fusion, Carbon Capture & Storage, the Euston redevelopment, Heathrow, Universal Studios and the Lower Thames Crossing.
Prior to his public sector work, Jon held executive roles at major client organisations including Thames Water and Openreach, as well as tier-one infrastructure contractors. He is widely recognised for pioneering collaborative supply chain models and leading multi-year alliance strategies across major infrastructure and technology programmes.
Jon is already closely connected to Sizewell C, having previously served on its Board as the Government’s shareholder non-executive director.
Jon Loveday said: “I am very proud to be taking on this new role on a project which will play a central role in building a cleaner more secure energy future for Britain. I have seen first-hand the strength of the company’s leadership and the clear focus on disciplined delivery and ensuring long-term value for billpayers.
“I take my responsibility very seriously, particularly in shaping and implementing a contracting strategy that keeps costs under control while maximising efficiency and performance. By working collaboratively with our growing network of suppliers, we will deliver a project that is efficient, resilient and sets a new benchmark for major infrastructure delivery.”
Sizewell C has now engaged with more than 1,000 UK suppliers, with project spend in the UK supply chain reaching £5bn so far. The company has pledged to award 70% of its construction value to UK businesses.
Nigel Cann, CEO of Sizewell C, said: “I’m very pleased to welcome Jon to the executive team. His exceptional track record across some of the UK’s most complex infrastructure programmes, combined with his deep expertise in commercial strategy and supply chain delivery, will be invaluable as we continue to grow.
“I would also like to thank Malcolm Dare for his significant contribution to Sizewell C as Supply Chain Director. His leadership has helped lay strong commercial foundations for the project, and we are grateful for everything he has achieved.”
Jon will take up his new role as Chief Commercial Officer on 1 July 2026.
